Vascular Tree Segmentation in Retinal Angiographies: Deformable Contour Model Approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes a new method to detect the retina vascular tree. This detection is performed by a deformable contour model in angiographic retinal images. The generic deformable contour model is here redefined to obtain a more accurate segmentation by considering specific features of these vascular structures, mainly the anatomical landmarks that a crease extraction technique obtains. Results on sample images are promising, making it easier the computation of the AV index, very important for the diagnosis of several pathologies. A Hybrid 3D Colon Segmentation Method Using Modified Geometric Deformable Models
Introduction: Nowadays virtual colonoscopy has become a reliable and efficient method of detecting primary stages of colon cancer such as polyp detection. One of the most important and crucial stages of virtual colonoscopy is colon segmentation because an incorrect segmentation may lead to a misdiagnosis. Materials and Methods: In this work, a hybrid method based on Geometric Deformable Models...
متن کاملBayesian Approach Based on Geometrical Features for Validation and Tuning of Solution in Deformable Models
A local deformable-model-based segmentation can be very helpful to extract objects from an image, especially when no prototype about the object is available. However, this technique can drive to an erroneous segmentation in noisy images, in case of the active contour is captured by noise particles. If some geometrical information (a priori knowledge) of the object is available, then it can be u...
متن کاملParallel Double Snakes. Application to the segmentation of retinal layers in 2D-OCT for pathological subjects
In order to segment elongated structures, we propose a new approach for integrating an approximate parallelism constraint in deformable models. The proposed Parallel Double Snakes evolve simultaneously two contours, in order to minimize an energy functional which attracts these contours towards high image gradients and enforces the approximate parallelism between them by controlling their dista...
متن کاملSegmentation of MR Data-Images Using a First-Order Deformable Spline Curve
This article describes an image segmentation procedure applied over magnetic resonance (MR) data-images. The applied technique is based on a contour propagation process deened by an energy minimization analysis. The nal contour of each volume of the heart is deened by a propagation process (spline deformable curve) added to a re-sampling procedure which increases the number of control points. T...
متن کاملSegmentation of the Midbrain in Transcranial Sonographies using a Two–Component Deformable Model
We present an approach for automatic segmentation of the midbrain and substantia nigra in 2D transcranial sonographies (TCS). It combines principles from both deformable shapes and Active Contour Models (ACM). A set of ACM is coupled with a two–component Finite Element Model of the midbrain anatomy, and this shape representation is used in a deformable shape search for the midbrain. A successfu...
